Dance Department

Performance Opportunities

The department produces two concerts of student choreography each year and ²ÊºçƵµÀ dancers regularly participate in ²ÊºçƵµÀ Arts Week, perform in student thesis productions and undertake independent projects. Dance faculty choreograph for the Contemporary Performance Ensemble, and ²ÊºçƵµÀ dancers create choreography for the student-run ²ÊºçƵµÀ Dance Troupe.

Contemporary Performance Ensemble

Open through audition, ²ÊºçƵµÀ dancers perform in works choreographed and directed by dance faculty and guest choreographers.

Student Dance Concerts

Each semester the dance department produces a concert of ²ÊºçƵµÀ student choreography created both in and out of class.

Winter Dance Concert

Senior Thesis Productions

Dance and Dance/Theatre majors choreograph and present evening’s length performances of their own work as part of their senior thesis projects.

²ÊºçƵµÀ Dance Troupe

The student run rehearses weekly and presents choreography throughout the year.

Independent Projects

²ÊºçƵµÀ students pursue many independent projects, often with the support of the Dance Department, , the Kaspar T. Locher Summer Creative Scholarship, the Jim Kahan Performing Arts Summer Fellowship, ²ÊºçƵµÀ President's Summer Fellowship, or the ²ÊºçƵµÀ Arts Grant Experience (RAGE).
