Public Health Lecturer

Sharon Lee Robinson Morris ’65

February 7, 2024, in Vashon, Washington of cancer.

Sharon was born in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington. She then went to ²ÊºçƵµÀ,  where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and wrote her thesis on Republican voting in the Deep South with Prof. Kirk Thompson [political science 1964-71] as her advisor. She had a long career in occupational safety and health, eventually retiring from the University of Washington as a senior lecturer in the school of public health. Sharon was an intrepid traveler whose favorite vantage point was the hatch of a sea kayak, from which she explored the wilds of Alaska with her close friends and family. She visited all seven continents and spent months at a time living in Vietnam and Israel with her husband, Moshe Rosenfeld. Sharon was, at her core, a writer; she completed her book, The Meaning of Wife, about the travails of her grandparents, Frank and Libby Robinson, this year.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Moshe; her children, Rebecca Morris-Chatta, Daniel, and Jennifer Morris; and her step-daughters, Rakefet Houchbaum and Segal Kirsch.
